NH-1 NANO HOOK
€69.99
The bit is made of tungsten carbide. Bit size: 15 , Handle length: 150 mm LONG-RANGE ACCURACY AND PRECISION. Tungsten carbide tools are exceptionally durable due to the incredible hardness of this material. These tools are extremely sharp and retain their original sharpness for a very long time. Although you can sharpen them with a diamond file if necessary (we recommend 600 grit), in most cases, they won’t need sharpening for several months or even several years. CARE AND USEHandle the blades with great care. Although they are extremely hard, they can break if dropped due to their fragility. Always store them safely to prevent them from being dropped accidentally. TIPS FOR USE. Because the blades are very sharp, vibration may occur during use. This effect occurs when the sharp edge cuts deeply into the clay, causing vibrations. To reduce vibration: Use both hands to stabilize the tool. Make sure that the shavings are no thicker than 2 mm and are of uniform thickness. Make sure the clay isn’t too dry. When shaping clay, hold the tool firmly and make sure the clay is the right consistency. Over time, you’ll get a feel for what conditions work best for your shaping style. COMPARISON WITH “CAPTAIN HOOK” TOOLS. Please note: These tools are different from the “Captain Hook” series of turning tools. Tungsten carbide tools: designed for advanced users. They last much longer, but are more fragile. Captain Hook blades are handmade, forged in a blacksmith’s shop from hardened stainless steel. They are more impact-resistant and break less often when dropped, since the steel is not as brittle as tungsten carbide, but they stay sharp for a shorter period of time.
