Mayco SW-304 Copper Wash fired at Cone 6 (1220 degrees): Fires to a matte metallic hue that turns green along the texture. When layered with other glazes, it can increase their flow. Cone 10 reduction (1300 degrees): Under strong reduction, variations of red hues appear. It can create additional surface texture. When layered with glazes, it promotes their flow. Cone 06 oxidation (±1000 degrees): Fires to a dark gray color; the surface becomes dry; leaves greenish spots on the clay body. Used alone or in combinations; shows almost no movement. IMPORTANT TO KNOW: Like manganese, “Copper Wash” acts as a flux at higher temperatures; therefore, when combining it with other glazes, you must take into account their increased fluidity.
