TIP: This glaze remains stable when applying up to 3 coats. Additional coats or heavy application may cause the glaze to run. For optimum crystal development, we recommend firing the “Micro” series glazes to Cone 6 (1220°C ) in an oxidation atmosphere. When fired to Cone 5, “Micro Pearl” produces a stable, semi-opaque, frosty white finish with a pearlescent satin sheen. It is suitable for both oxidation and reduction firings. Results may vary depending on clay body selection, application thickness, and kiln atmosphere; testing is always recommended. Results in wood or soda firings may also vary.

Mayco SW-214 Micro Pearl is a glossy, semi-opaque white glaze with lilac tones that surface around texture. During the firing process, an iridescent micro-crystallization of lilac and pale yellowish shades develops. Cone 10 (1300°C): The glaze darkens and becomes mottled, featuring transitions of blue, purple, and white.
