AMACO Opalescent Series glazes have a high gloss after firing. The best results are achieved by applying three or four layers of glaze. Although these glazes can be used on any type of clay, the strongest effect and most interesting textures are achieved when applied to red-firing clay. Characteristics: On textured pieces, the glaze thins out over the raised areas and flows into the recesses, giving the surface added depth and dimension. Firing at a low temperature produces the hues of high-fire glazes. Recommendation: It looks best on red clay or colored underglaze s. Technical Information: Apply to a bisque fired to Cone 04 (1063°C ). Recommended firing temperature: Cone 05 (1031°C ).

O-23 SAPPHIRE BLUE
€18.99
Amaco O-23 Blue Sapphire is an active, fluid, low-firing glaze that becomes translucent when applied thinly and, in thicker layers, develops into a rich, electric blue color. Characteristics: Because it tends to run off raised areas and expose the clay body, this glaze looks stunning on red clay or on textured pieces that have been decorated with underglaze s. Effect: Highlights the product’s texture and adds depth and dynamism to the surface. Tips: 1. Shake well before use. 2. Apply 3-4 coats with a brush to the Cone 04 bisque. 3. Let each coat dry completely before applying the next one.
