Goerg & Schneider (G&S) 933 is a stoneware body with a smooth, plastic texture containing 20% fine grog (0–0.2 mm) and basalt particles that create specks after firing. Recommended firing temperature: 1000°C–1240°C. Color: Ranges from russet to cork-brown with dark basalt specks.
PROPERTIES AND USAGE:
Forming: This plastic clay is versatile – it is excellent for throwing, handbuilding small objects, and constructing larger forms.
Effect: The unique clay color and basalt specks create a very attractive, natural-looking combination.
Effect of Temperature: The basalt specks and their pattern become particularly striking and vivid when fired at higher temperatures (approaching 1240°C).
